Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she received the Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a family which included four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of becoming an official reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress from the 1980s has appeared in numerous TV shows as well as dramas. In contrast to her impressive professional career, Delaney's personal life is not successful and happy. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past and has been through two marriages that failed. In 2005, her custody was taken away from her.
